Al Ain Volleyball Team wins the League Title for the second time in a row and the tenth in its history

Al Ain Men’s Volleyball Team won the Premier League Title after a 3-0 win over Al Nasr Club at the game held at the indoor sports hall in Khalifa Bin Zayed Stadium at Al-Ain Club in the final leg of the league playoffs. The first leg ended with the same score, thus Al Ain became the league champion for the second time in a row and tenth in its history.
Al Ain faced no notable difficulty for winning the game, as the first period ended with 18/25, the second period was similar to the first one being won by Al Ain 25/20, and then Al Nasr announced its full surrender in the game, as the “Boss” won the third period 25/11. The referee blew the final whistle to announce Al Ain as the league champion for this year.
After the end of the game, HE Abdul Mohsen Al Dosari, Assistant Secretary of Sports Affairs at the General Authority for Youth and Sports Welfare, HE Yousef Al Mulla, Chairman of Emirates Volleyball Federation, Ghanem Al Hajri, President of Al Ain Football Club, and Khamis Obaid Al Kaabi, Chairman of Al Ain Club Sport Games, crowned the champions and conferred Al Ain players the gold medals and then the league shield was delivered to team captain Khaled Mahmoud.
Champions Record
The list of champions for this year included Abdullah Hareb Zweid, team administrator, the Egyptian team coach, Ahmed Mustafa and players “Khalid Mahmoud (captain of the team), Walid Thani, Mohammed Shamal, Khamis Abdullah, Vladimir (the Serbian professional player), Mohammed Suleiman, Adel Ateej, Mohamed Atta, Saeed Ali Hamoud, Jamal Mohammed, Mubarak Khalifa Swaidan, Mohammed Salem Al-Badi, Salem Jawhar and Mohammed Abdullah Fayrouz, “along with Ragab Qutb, Yasser Farouk, the Team Physician and Abdulqayom, worker.
Success Strategy
HE Mr. Khamis Obaid, Chairman of Al Ain Club Sports Games, affirmed that the commitment of all to the successful strategy laid down by His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi, First Vice President of Al Ain Club, the first Vice-President of the Honorary Council, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club, has led the sports to keep pace with the signs of development and achieve the highest indicators of success, and I believe that winning the volleyball league title is a natural result of the high care and generous support, the club kept receiving from his Highness.
Al-Kaabi congratulated the leadership of the club and the members of the Board of Directors of Al Ain Club Sports Games, the technical and administrative staff, the players of the first volleyball team and Al Ain fans for winning the league title of this year.
He assured that the achievement is a result of the togetherness of all, who worked to show the best they have, each in his position, in order to pave the road to success for the team, pointing out that their next goal is to achieve the UAE President’s Cup and add it to the other titles in the club treasury.
Khamis pointed out that the team had some difficulties in this season including, the change the coach and then participation in GCC Champions League held in Qatar, in which the team didn’t perform as desired, but it managed to overcome those difficulties, return more powerful in the league championship and win the title, the matter which can only be found in great clubs such as Al Ain Club.
Reconsideration
Al Ain Club coach Ahmed Mustafa, the Egyptian national, congratulated the chairman and members of the board of Al Ain Club Sports Games, the administrative staff, the assistant technical staff, the players and fans who attended the game on Al Ain’s winning of the league title for the second time in a row.
Ahmed Mustafa pointed out that there is a UAE President’s Cup, for which we must be well prepared within the next ten days, and focus in order to win its title and add it to this year’s league title.
Al Ain coach thanked the Volleyball Federation for organizing and honoring, calling for a reconsideration of the playoff system, and that the league should become in two rounds only, in which the team that win the largest number of points becomes the champion of league, With the aim of bringing justice to the leaders who may face problems in the team during the playoff stage, whether injuries or suspensions.
The Precious Cup
Abdullah Zuwaid, Managing Director of the Al Ain volleyball team, expressed his happiness at the team’s achievement, congratulating everyone for Al Ain’s winning the league title, pointing out that the championship was achieved after overcoming many of challenges faced by the team since the start of the season, and assuring that support provided to the team by all has contributed greatly to the return of the spirit of the team especially following the change of coach.
Zuwaid said that there is a UAE President’s Cup, for which we must be well prepared in order to achieve more titles, especially that that tournament bears a name dear and precious to all, and Al Ain didn’t manage to win it the past two seasons.
The Difficult Task
Al-Ain volleyball player Mohammed Shaml assured that their task in the competition for the league title was not easy, particularly that we are champions of the last edition, as the difficulty lies in maintaining the title and never give it up.
“I think that not achieving the required results in GCC Champions League has given us a strong motivation to change the way we appeared in Qatar, therefore, we were determined to make up by winning the league title. Thank God, together, we managed to reach our goal” He added.
Shaml also praised the efforts made by the Chairman and members of the Board of Directors of Al Ain Club Sports Games and his teammates in addition to the great job done by coach Ahmed Mustafa, as he managed, in a short time, to make a remarkable difference in the team, and give all Players the right to participate in matches, the matter which helped create a spirit of competition within the team.
The Al Ain player expressed his deep appreciation to Al Ain fans who supported the team during his tour in the league as well as the role they played in the final match by providing the perfect support that contributed significantly to winning the league title.
