Today, Al Ain Club officially announced a new national partnership with the Royal Health Group to open the Covid 19 Screening and Vaccination Center through the vehicle. The new center is located in the perimeter of the Hazza bin Zayed Stadium.

The signing ceremony was held in the presence of Hamad Bin Nukhairat Al Ameri, Managing Director of Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club and its affiliates, Dr. Muhammad Badr Al Sayyari, CEO of Royal Health Group, Rashid Abdullah, Operational Director of Al Ain Club, a large number of the first line of defense working in the new center and affiliated with the Royal Health Group and the staff of Al Ain Sports Club Cultural and affiliated companies.

Dr. Mohammed Badr Al Sayyari, CEO of the Royal Health Group, said in exclusive statements to Al Ain TV Channel that the partnership results from the Abu Dhabi Government’s sincere efforts, the Abu Dhabi Health Department, and all its strategic partners.

“It brings together two big national institutions, Al Ain Club and the Royal Health Group, with sights set to establish this vital project that provides services to the community easily and flawlessly. The center is designed to provide citizens of the city with the preventive COVID-19 vaccination services via vehicle, besides, to conduct screening test via vehicle smoothly and with a hassle-free process.”

Regarding the procedures adopted by the new center, he said: “The customers are received at the main gate where officers in charge lead them to the right direction to receive the service they need. They are then registered and follow the tracks leading to vaccination or screening test tents to be provided with the necessary service. They are provided with all the required information about vaccination and how to communicate with the medical authorities, according to the specific vaccination period. At the center, the whole process does not exceed seven minutes and four minutes only to do the screening test.”

The CEO of the Royal Health Medical Group described the current project as one of the smartest projects that provides two types of service simultaneously in an easy and accessible way.

“It is one of the projects that receive remarkable support from the Department of Health Abu Dhabi and the National Disaster and Crisis Management Committee,” he said.

He added: “The partnership demonstrates the required relationship between the national authorities within the Abu Dhabi Emirate, represented by the Al Ain Club, which is considered one of the leading national institutions in the UAE. Through this partnership, we look forward to the optimal use of the capabilities, facilities, and places provided by the club to serve the community in addition to the qualified and affiliated taskforces of the club and by the Royal Health Group. We also seek to provide medical personnel, medical devices, and all the necessary capabilities to obtain an easy medical product that serves the citizens and residents of the beloved city of Al Ain.”

For his part, Rashid Abdullah, the Operational Director of Al Ain Club, expressed his great pleasure, honor, and pride for signing the new national partnership that led to establishing the new center for COVID-19 screening tests and vaccination.

He went on to say: “Al Ain Club always seeks to consolidate the concept of the comprehensive sports club whose services are not limited to offer sports services only. This concept is based on the club’s commitment to the vision and strategic plans to promote social services and contribute to the awareness campaign for receiving the COVID-19 vaccine under the theme “Hand in Hand we Recover”.

Rashid Abdullah expressed his sincerest appreciation to all parties of the partnership by saying: “I would like to thank everyone for their significant contributions in the opening of the Al Ain Club Center for COVID- 19 Screening Tests and Vaccination via Vehicle; it is indeed an exceptional dual service. He signed off by saying that there will be other significant efforts to be revealed later on.

Al Ain Ends as Runners Up of the UAE Handball Cup

Al Ain Handball First Team placed second in the UAE Handball Cup 2021 behind the top club, Al Sharjah, on goal difference.

In their championship journey, Al Ain achieved the full mark in the group stage as the team won Bani Yas, Al Wahda, and Al Jazira to qualify to play against Al Sharjah. Al Ain Lost to Al Sharjah but won Shabab Al Ahli Dubai by 10-0 and ends as a runner up on goals difference.

On his part, Saleh Al Shouaili, member of the Board of Directors of Al Ain Sports Games Company and the Supervisor of Al Ain Handball Team, praised the team’s players’ effort during their journey in the championship.

He said: “We aspired to maintain the title of the competition in our cabins, but we faced certain challenges such as injuries continued to occur during the whole rounds and lack of players on the bench. The majority are still young players who still need more time to experienced players and be ready to play competition.”

He went on to say that Al Ain Team was the only team that played many matches after the technical error committed in the team’s game against the Al Jazira. “We won the second match and it was an important victory as we proved to everyone that we deserved to be at the top spot of Group “A”. We did not get enough break time as we played against a strong team and a candidate to win the title, that is Al Sharjah.”

“Our opponent took the advantage during the break time use after our second match against Al Jazira. However, we were not lucky enough and lost to Al Sharjah only after three days of our last match. We did not have time to recover as several players suffered from injuries.”

Al Shouaili hailed for their dedicated efforts and being able to end as runners up. He also expressed his sincerest appreciation for the coaching teams, medical and administrative staff, who could present the team in an outstanding image despite losing the top spot and the title.

“We are proud of them and everything they did, and we expect more from them in the remaining tournaments of this season,” he said.

Regarding the team’s chances to win the titles of the other competitions of the current season, Al Shouaili said: “Praise be to God, we still holding the second spot of the Men’s League as we have not lose any match. Thanks go to the coaching teams, administrative and medical staff and the players.”

He went on to say: “We hope to continue at this level, but we may face circumstances outside of our control, such as injuries and relying on the young players who lack experience to play big matches. Such conditions may lead to losing any match.”

He concluded his testament by saying: “We have full confidence in the young players’ skills and the role of experienced team players to help them in their career. We are looking forward to seeing them to compete in the Handball General League and the President’s Cup and be able to clinch more titles to the team’s record as we did last season and to win the title of the UAE Handball Cup.”

Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit discusses sustainable post-COVID-19 recovery

(WAM) — In the presence of H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit got underway this morning as part of ADSW 2021, the global platform for accelerating the pace of sustainable development.

Hosted by Masdar, the event is being held virtually this year due to restriction in place to manage the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed welcomed the leaders, officials and experts participating in the sessions of this year’s summit to discuss how to enact a ‘green recovery’ to help economies rebound from the pandemic and build a more sustainable future for all.

Sheikh Hazza emphasised that the UAE is continuing its efforts under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and with the support of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to stimulate sustainable development, and said that ADSW is particularly relevant this year as it represents a global platform for dialogue and setting the sustainable development agenda based on the principles of the green recovery.

Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed said, “In light of the exceptional circumstances that the world is experiencing, there is an urgent need to take practical steps and initiatives that contribute to accelerating the application of the principles and foundations of sustainable development, with the need to take proactive steps, plan for a more flexible future and strengthen capabilities in order to efficiently face the existing and emerging challenges.

“The Emirati initiatives, present to the world a practical model on the economic feasibility of renewable energy, stressing the importance of cooperation and joint work to achieve tangible progress in the field of reducing the repercussions of climate change.”

Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed said that Abu Dhabi continues, year after year, to consolidate its position and pivotal role as a platform that brings together the international community to discuss key issues in sustainability. He said that he hoped that this year’s ADSW would be the starting point for constructive global dialogue on building a secure and stable future for current and future generations.

H.S.H. Prince Albert II, Sovereign Prince of Monaco, delivered the Summit’s keynote speech, thanked Abu Dhabi for hosting this event under these circumstances and said, “I believe the crisis we are experiencing is urging us to reinvent the ways we live, produce and travel in a more radical manner. It is urging us to rethink our relationship with nature and to re-evaluate our priorities. In this respect, the coming year will be full of opportunities which we need to grasp.”

Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Special Envoy for Climate Change and Chairman of Masdar, in his speech praised the wise leadership’s support for sustainable development.

He said that the COVID-19 pandemic was a wake-up call to humanity as a whole, and that it demonstrated the importance of sustainability in its broadest sense, and revealed the interdependence between health and food and resource security.

He explained how efforts made by the UAE to face the pandemic, through proactive measures enacted by the wise leadership, focused on enhancing resource security and supporting vital supply chains.

He stressed the concept of cooperation and building bridges of dialogue and communication, noting that the country will host the Dubai Expo later this year, with sustainability and the future as the main themes of this event.

Dr. Al Jaber touched on the Zayed Sustainability Prize and its role in promoting global sustainability efforts, as it has achieved a positive impact on more than 350 million people around the world.

He said that the award has a special place among the UAE’s leadership because it embodies the values and principles of the founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and especially his commitment to sustainable progress.

He explained that the award will return in its usual form next year, with a focus on aspects of innovation and recovery for the post-COVID period.

The ADSW Summit comprises three sessions of two hours each, and focuses on three topics: restoring the circle of life (Live & Move), enhancing responsibility and interaction (Care & Engage), and doing business and investment (Work & Invest). Each topic addresses the main issues and topics that would open the way for the many social, economic and technological opportunities to achieve a post-pandemic green recovery.

As well as the Summit, ADSW, which runs from January 18-21, hosts a series of high-level virtual activities, including the General Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the Abu Dhabi Forum for Sustainable Finance, and the Global Energy Forum of the Atlantic Council. the virtual forum for the “Youth for Sustainability” platform, and the World Future Energy Summit forums.

Bin Azeez Group Honors the Boss’ Champs

Bin Azeez Group, the Al Ain Ju-Jitsu Team’s official sponsor, honored the Boss champs following winning the Vice President’s Cup of Ju-Jitsu last year. The event was held at the Al Ain Sports Games Company headquarters.

The honoring ceremony was held to recognize the team’s efforts and encourage them before kicking off the President’s Cup this upcoming Saturday, scheduled to be held in Shabab Al Ahli Dubai indoor court.

The honoring ceremony was attended by Mr. Mohammed Msallam bin Aziz Al Mahrrami, Chairman of the Bin Azeez Group and Member of the Honorary Council of Al Ain Club, Khwaiter Al Dhaheri, Board Member of Al Ain Sports Games Company, Mr. Ahmed Sultan Al Nuaimi, Sports Director of Al Ain Sports Games Company, Saeed Al Junaibi, Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Team Admin Office and a number of the jiu-jitsu players.

Mohammed Msallam bin Aziz Al Mahrrami congratulated Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu champs’ champions for the achievements they accomplished in the past years, calling for maintaining this level to reach the coronation podiums and raising the name of Al Ain in all local and international events.

Al Mahrrami stressed that honoring the champs is based on our wise leadership’s directives to consolidating the concept of institutional values. “It is our role to support the society, especially in encouraging the practice of sports and supporting athletes as required. All organizations have to contribute to all initiatives that support society per the plans drawn.”

He added: “We are all set to support all games practiced by players of all ages. Indeed, our sponsorship of Jiu-Jitsu is based on all teams’ outstanding results locally and globally. It is not a secret to say that I am one of the fans of this game.

For his part, Khwaiter Al Dhaheri, member of the Board of Directors of Al Ain Club Sports Games Company, expressed his sincerest appreciation to Bin Azeez Group for honoring Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu champions for winning the Vice President’s Cup in the middle of last year.

He said: “We are proud of such an initiative adopted by Mohammed Msallam bin Aziz Al Mahrrami, Chairman of the Bin Azeez Group, and member of the Honorary Council of Al Ain Club, who is one of the significant supporters of sports in general and the sport of Jiu-Jitsu in particular, and above all is a significant fan of this game.”

He stressed: “Such material and moral support instill the spirit of enthusiasm in the players’ hearts before they play any competitions. Italy’s Matteo Paris Al Ain Volleyball Signs to Al Ain Volleyball Team

Al Ain Sports Games Company announced that the company signed a contract with the Italian Matteo Paris (37 years old), playing as the first team’s setter until the end of the current season.

His Excellency Abdullah Al Darmaki, Vice Chairman of Al Ain Sports Games Company, welcomed the newcomer, the Italian team Matteo Paris, wishing that he would add value to the team this season.

Al Darmaki confirmed that a meeting was held with the Club’s Volleyball Technical Committee. The committee members agreed that there are requirements for the team, including to contract with the Italian setter Matteo. They also promised to fulfill the team’s requirements shortly to compete for the remaining tournaments of this season.

For his part, Matteo Paris expressed his pleasure with the warm welcome and stated: “I am thrilled to join the family of volleyball at Al Ain Club and tanks for the brilliant welcome that I received upon my arrival in Al Ain. Indeed, this is my first visit to the Gulf region and the UAE in particular, and I wish to make the desired added value during the remaining competitions of this season.”

On his first experience in the UAE, Paris indicated that he knows very well that Al Ain has a great history of winning titles at the local level. “I know very well that the team is going through a transitional phase during the current season, trying to do everything he can to be back to the coronation podiums with the help of his fellow players and the coaching teams.”

Matteo has successfully passed all the medical examinations that he underwent to be eligible to join the team’s lineup. He is scheduled to play with the team in the next rounds of the General League Championship.

Noteworthy, the Italian Matteo Paris, 37, is considered one of the distinguished setters at the level of Europe. He played for Italian and Greek clubs, won many titles in Europe, and won many titles at the personal level and the teams he played for.

Al Ain Wins 12 Colored Medals in the Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Federation Tournament

Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club players won 12 colored medals in the Jujitsu Federation Professional Championship, which ended this evening at the Jujitsu Arena in Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi, with the participation of 141 players.

Al-Ain Jiu-Jitsu Team won 4 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze medals. The rounds strong and tough in various categories and weights under 56, 62, 69, 77 and 85 kg. It was a reliable test for the players’ capabilities and introducing them to the atmosphere of the official tournaments.

Wadima Al Yafei won the gold medal of 45kg and her colleague Ohoud Al Kaabi won the gold medal of 48kg. Meanwhile, Mohammed Talal Al Kaabi won the gold medal of 46 weight and Ammar Hamad Al Dhaheri won the gold of 50 kg.

Maryam Khalifa Al Rashedi won silver medal of 57 kg, and her colleague Mohammed Saeed Al Kaabi won the silver medal in 55 kg, Hamdan Al Asri Al Mansouri won silver medal of 60 weight and Hadi Abbas got the silver medal of 66 kg.

The bronze medals were granted to Ahmad Ali Al Meqbali in 60 kg category, Mohammed Al Darmaki, in 73 kg, Sultan Mohammed Al Kaabi, 94, and Azari Muhammad Al Shamsi, 63.

H.E. Khwaiter Al Dhaheri, Board Member of Al Ain Club Sports Games and Supervisor of Individual Games, expressed his appreciation to the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation for its constant attention they pay for the clubs and players and for providing an atmosphere that guarantees their personal and professional growth and development.

Al Dhaheri congratulated the players who won the colored medals and wished the other fighters to exert more efforts to win medals and catch up with their colleagues to the podiums. He said: “The club participates strongly in this tournament, especially as it is an integrated physical and psychological preparation for the players for the upcoming championships and competitions. Al Ain Celebrates Prompting Jiu-Jitsu Players with Colored Belts

Marking their local and international achievements at the individual and group levels, a promotion ceremony of Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu players was held at the indoor court attached to Al Ain Club in Al Qattara. The event was held in the presence of the Brazilian team head coach, Eduardo da Silva, and game administrative officer, Saeed Al Juniabi, and a number of the team coaches.

During the ceremony, 5 players were promoted from the purple to the brown belt and 3 players from the blue to the purple belt. Additionally, several players from junior teams were promoted to higher after they had passed the main tests and pre-requirements for promotion.

The Brazilian head team, Eduardo da Silva, congratulated the players who were promoted saying “I wish that this promotion will motivate you all to add more to your achievements in your future career and during coming tournaments you will compete in this season and the coming seasons.”

Saeed Hilal Al Juniabi, the team’s administrative officer, praised the efforts made by the management of Al Ain Club Sports Games for jiu-jitsu game and their interest and support for the players. “The Club has spared no efforts to provide the appropriate atmosphere with sights set to achieve more successes to reach the coronation podiums as we usually do in each season.”

Al Juniabi thanked the players who were promoted and calling for more efforts and more achievements at the local, regional and international levels while playing for the Club or the national team. He urged them to work hard to get promoted to higher belts.

The player and captain of Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Team Zayed Obaid Al Kaabi, who won the black belt, congratulated his fellow players on their promotion, noting that each belt is a start and a new challenge for each of them to achieve more victories at the personal, club and national level during their career.

In Cooperation with the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination.. Al Ain Organizes a Basketball Match with the Firm Well People

In cooperation with the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination and on the occasion of the Month of People of Determination, Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club organized a friendly wheelchair basketball match on Wednesday 16th December 2020 at the Al Ain basketball indoor court at Falaj Hazza.

The Al Ain First Basketball Team players joined the Al Ain Basketball Team for People of Determination to play as one team.

The match was held in the presence of Mr. Rashid Abdullah Ali, Acting Operational Director of Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club, Mr. Ahmed Sultan Al Nuaimi, Sports Director of Al Ain Sports Games Company, Mr. Ismail Al Marazeeq, Director of Sports Clubs Department of the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, Mr. Theban Salem Al Muhairi, Secretary-General of the National Paralympic Committee, and attended and supervised by the Corporate Communication Department at Al Ain Sports Club.

The friendly match was played in four rounds, during which Team “A” won Team “B” by 27-19.

By the end of the friendly match, the Al Ain Team for People of Determination was honored with gifts and presents offered by the match’s sponsor, “Out Boutique for Perfumes” and the Al Ain Club shield was presented to Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination. Then a group photo was taken of all the participants in this event.

Ahmed Sultan Al Nuaimi, Sports Director of Al Ain Sports Games Company, said: “Such an event makes us so please when we participate in such games with our brothers and sons of people of determination in their sports activities despite the conditions we are experiencing due to the breakthrough of Corona pandemic. Nevertheless, we insisted on bringing joy and pleasure to them. Indeed, this is our role as a community sports institution. We always strive to involve those with will and determination in our sports and cultural activities.”

In a joint press statement posted on their official websites, the Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club and the UAE University have officially announced signing a Memorandum of Understanding to promote cooperation between both parties in joint fields of interest.

The MoU has been signed by H.E. Hamad Bin Nukhairat Al Ameri, Managing Director at Al Ain Club, and H.E. Prof. Galib Al Hadrami Al Buraiki, Acting President of the UAE University.

On this occasion, E. Hamad Bin Nukhairat Al Ameri expressed Al Ain Club’s pride in such a partnership with the UAE University, one of the leading educational institutions at the region’s level, and featured by its significant achievements at the regional and global levels.

Bin Nukhairat added: “Our partnership with the UAE University is a true reflection of the Club’s social responsibility. The Club’s role and efforts are not limited to sports aspects only, but expand to include serving the society based on the fact that Al Ain Club is not covering the sports activities, but also the cultural, educational, and social aspects and serving different age groups.”

“The desired gains from activating the clauses of the partnership agreement between the Al Ain Club and its affiliates and all the UAE University branches are great. Signing the MoU is a genuine reflection of our keenness to boost cooperation with all institutions and national bodies in line with the Club’s vision and strategy. Our sights are all set to develop the capabilities of the Club’s staff and to activate the important role of the Al Ain Media Training Institution,” Bin Nukhairat stated.

Bin Nukhairat pointed out the UAE University has practically begun to provide consultations and training programs for the Club and its companies based on its academic capabilities that qualify it to do so. “We would start soon holding training courses paving the way to be part of the scientific researches and innovation, which contributes to supporting the process of institutional progress per the approved policy guide.”

Hamad bin Nukhairat went on to say that the Al Ain Club, with its various companies and Al Ain T.V. Channel, provides field training opportunities for students of the UAE University, according to the policies in place.

He emphasized that providing such opportunities to the UAE University would enhance the scientific and research role of the educational partner and thus achieving national goals in areas of common and mutual interest, in addition, to contribute to preparing an elite group of Emirati experts capable of keeping pace with scientific development in all fields.

For his part, Prof. Dr. Ghalib Al-Hadrami Al Braiki, Acting President of the UAE University, affirmed that concluding the MoU with the Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club comes in line with the university’s vision and strategy to enhance cooperation and partnerships with institutions.

“The MoU represents the UAE University’s constant keenness to consolidate cooperation with other national entities, given that the UAE University plays a key role in developing the local community and providing various services as a house of expertise that contributes to the training and development of individuals in various fields. Additionally, the UAE University always seeks to have an enduring partnership with the relevant entities to conduct its activities and programs to achieve the maximum benefit out of these initiatives to serve the best interest of targeted beneficiaries,” Prof. Al Hadrami stated.

The Acting President of the UAE University hailed the advantages of signing the MoU in disseminating and promoting sports activities according to scientific foundations, enabling the staff of the Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club to benefit from experiences and scientific research related to sports and health and to provide scientific guidance according to the requirements and needs of the Al Ain Club.

Hazza bin Zayed attends graduation of Khalifa Bin Zayed Air College’s 50th batch of pilot cadets

(WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, witnessed this morning the graduation of the 50th batch of pilots and the tenth batch of females pilots from Khalifa Bin Zayed Air College in Al Ain.

The ceremony was attended by Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, a number of senior officials, Armed Forces officers, the police, military attachés, as well as the families of graduates.
