Mohammed bin Thaloub: We Need More Attention to Age Groups

The UAE Judo Team participating in the Arab Judo Championship concluded Thursday 16th September 2021 achieved a new milestone in their journey by adding two further medals. Thus, the total medals won by the UAE Team turned to be six colored medals.

The Fujairah Martial Arts Club, represented by the new quality player Saeed Al Naqbi who won a silver medal of the U-73 kg for the junior category. His teammate Yazan Murshid won the bronze medal in the U-50 kg for the youth category and his victory on the first day with the silver medal in the same weight. Ahmad Al Jack, the young player of the Fujairah Martial Arts Club, won the gold medal in the U-73 kg. The Sharjah Sports Club player Mansour Jumaa Abdul Rahman won the bronze medal in U-90 kg, and the Fujairah Martial Arts Club player Abdul Rahman Muhammad won the silver medal on the third day of the championship.

The total medals are an added-value achievement for UAE sport in this championship, which witnessed 625 male and female players from 10 Arab countries.

H.E. Mohammed bin Thaloub Al Drei, President of the Emirates Wrestling and Judo Association, called the head of the mission, Mr. Mohammed Jassim Al Sajwani, Assistant Secretary and member of the Arab Federation, praised the results and titles achieved by the “Hope” Judo Team and Fujairah Martial Arts Club.

He stated that this achievement is worthy of praise and attention and contributes to putting the name of the UAE Judo in the Arab list of honor despite the late preparation for that participation due to the cessation of sports activities due to the Corona pandemic in line with health directives.

H.E. Al Deri commended the efforts of the Arab Judo Federation chaired by Yemeni Engineer Noman Shaher for his contribution to advancing the game.

He emphasized that the UAE Judo teams of age groups will participate in the next three championships approved by the Executive Office at its recent meeting in Cairo scheduled to be held in 2022 in Jordan, Tunisia, and Morocco, along with the Asian tournaments of age groups to gain more experience and refine their skills.
