Al Ain Hosts International Junior Volleyball Championship with Local and Gulf Participation

Al Ain region will host the International Junior Volleyball Championship, organized by Al Ain Club at the Khalifa bin Zayed Sports Hall, under the patronage of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, with the support of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and in cooperation with the UAE Volleyball Federation, from August 30 to September 4.

The tournament’s Organizing Committee announced that the current edition will feature the participation of six local and Gulf teams: Al Ain, Al Qadsia and Burgan from Kuwait, Al Rayyan and Al Arabi from Qatar, and Al Nasr from Bahrain.

The Organizing Committee confirmed that all organizational and technical preparations for the event have been completed, including preparations for the competition venues, teams, referees and spectators, as well as receiving delegations, accreditation, media coverage and the award ceremony.

It added that hosting the tournament in Al Ain will contribute to strengthening its position as a distinguished platform for sporting events and consolidating its presence on the tournament calendar, in line with efforts to promote sports tourism and attract athletes and visitors from within and outside the UAE.

It noted that the patronage of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi reflects its support for events that contribute to enhancing the status of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain as distinguished destinations for sporting and tourism events, in addition to the support of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, in line with the importance of quality tournaments in developing the sports sector and supporting young talents.

The committee also revealed the cooperation of the UAE Volleyball Federation in the technical aspects of the tournament, while Al Ain Club will be responsible for organizing and hosting the tournament and overseeing its various operational and organizational aspects.

The Organizing Committee has allocated cash prizes for the top three finishers to enhance the spirit of competition, alongside draws and prizes for spectators, to increase engagement and provide attendees with an integrated sporting and entertainment experience.
