14.Jan.2022

Mustafa Al Kaabi, Assistant Coach of the Al Ain Handball First Team, confirmed the Boss is ready to meet Sharjah the day after tomorrow, Friday, in the final round of the Vice President’s Cup.

Al Kaabi said: “We qualified along with Al Nasr Team as top teams of the second group, as did Sharjah and Al Wasl who topped the first group. According to the competition’s regulations, the final rounds will be playoff rounds, and the teams qualify per the accumulated points. Additionally, the matches will be held over two consecutive days, provided that the final day will be completed after a week. The four teams will be playing according to the camps system. After tomorrow, Friday, in Sharjah, the first gathering will be our first confrontation with the home team. Then, on Saturday, the second match will be held at Al Nasr Stadium in Dubai and with the home team, provided that the final day of the Vice President’s Cup and the coronation day will be in Al Ain City.

Mustafa added: “We look forward to winning Al Sharjah and continuing the path towards winning the title, as we did two years ago with the name, the UAE Cup, under the command of the Tunisian coach Mohammed Boughazaleh, who seeks to repeat this achievement after returning to the team this season. We will determine the players’ level of readiness and develop appropriate plans to reach the desired form. The team’s sights are all set to snatch the 3 points of the match against Sharjah. I would also like to thank the team management who always strives to provide the appropriate atmosphere for the team before the clash confrontation.”

He also pointed out: “We had a whole week to focus on raising the level of players’ performance and correcting some mistakes. Indeed, this is what we have been focusing on, although certain key players are absent, in addition to the international players who joined their national teams. However, we always say that it does not matter who plays in the day match as this is Al Ain.”

Mustafa stressed that the coaching team and the players know well the nature of the opposing team, and “we must take into account that we will face a strong team that has achieved the full mark so far, but we also have distinguished players who have experience and always prefer strong confrontations.”

He went on to say that everyone enjoys high levels of concentration to achieve the team’s goals. The team plans to play to win the match’s three points with all due respect to the opponent.

He signed off: “We are mentally prepared for the match and will select the best players to play a match worthy of the name of Al Ain Club.”
