HBZ Stadium Shortlisted to WAF Award

Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, the official playground of Al Ain Sports Club, continues to receive international accolades for being one of the elite sports and architectural marvels in the United Arab Emirates and the world as well. The stadium has been recently nominated to 7th edition of the World Architecture Festival Awards, the world’s largest event of its kind that recognizes excellence and innovation in iconic architectural designs to be held in Singapore in 4th – 6th November, 2015.

HBZ Stadium was shortlisted for the Completed Sports Building category award along with Aledaide Oval Football & Cricket Stadium, Australia; Fisht Olympic Stadium, Russia; Lidingövallen Stadium, Sweden and London Aquatics Center, UK. For 2015 edition, WAF received 46 submissions competing in 31 categories. Winners will be announced on the last day of the event.

For its side, HBZ Stadium management saw the nomination as recognition of the quality, luxurious and sophisticated international specifications of the stadium as well as a testimony of its prestigious standing on the world’s elite architectural developments. The nomination also celebrates the dedicated project team who produced an integrated sports edifice matching its peers worldwide in terms of design, facilities and multiuse in accordance with the highest international standards.

Built over an area of 45 thousand squared meters in a record time, HBZ Stadium accommodates 25 thousand spectators and contains indoor sports halls, a number of retailers, parks and several integrated facilities. The inner design of the stadium provides a perfect experience of watching the matches and events from 3-tier stand, lounges and suites.
