Brazil’s Head Coach of Al Ain Volleyball Team, Sidney Luciano, underlined that his team’s match against Egypt’s Smouha Volleyball Team was a good starting point for the team’s away training camp despite losing it in favor of the home team.

The head coach attributed losing the first friendly match to certain defense mistakes while assuring that “The main goal of the current training camp is a good starting point, given that we are playing against string teams and they play in a completely different style than ours.”

He added: “Our players should understand the importance of playing with the spirit of the team and this is what we are planning to achieve during this camp. We will also try our best to avoid the mistakes we committed during the final match of the Vice-President’s Cup.”. The Brazilian head coach expressed his satisfaction with the camp held currently in Cairo. It is a great location and will achieve the goals of the away camp.”

Al Ain First Volleyball Team has kicked off their away training camp on Friday 2nd November 2018 in Egypt at The Olympic Center in Cairo. The training camp will last until 15th November and held in preparation of the current volleyball league.

The training camp is divided into morning and evening sessions under the command of Brazil’s Sidney Luciano Babeki. The sessions program includes muscle exercises in the gym and then volleyball tactical exercises and handling certain performance issues.

The Boss is scheduled to play their first friendly against Smouha Sporting Club on Sunday4th November at 6 p.m. (Cairo local time) at the Olympic Center in Maadi.

Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has hailed His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, for receiving the engineering team that participated in the building and launching of KhalifaSat.

In his remarks on the occasion, Sheikh Hazza emphasised that receiving the team is an amazing embodiment of all meanings of pride and appreciation for the Emirati youth and a great incentive from two inspiring leaders who believe that the path of success begins with an idea and the determination of the youth who are armed with knowledge will lead us to be number one.

Al Ain Handball Team won Al Dhafra Team by 25-17 in the match of UAE Handball Cup held at the indoor court of Khalifa bin Zayed Stadium. The Boss squad succeeded in finishing the first half by 16-5.

Noteworthy, Al Ain holds the 3rd spot in the table of Group B. The team has already finalized all preparations to fly to Egypt on 8th November 2018 to kick-off the team’s 10-day- away training camp in preparation for the league.

Bin Thaloub’s Selection Highlights the Confidence of International Institutions in UAE

The International Judo Federation (IJF) organized a grand ceremony on the side-lines of the Year of Zayed Judo Championship following picking the UAE capital Abu Dhabi to host the annual World Friendship and Tolerance Day held on 28th October each year. The celebrations of this day coincide with hosting the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam 2018 scheduled to be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council with the participation of 61 countries from all continents of the world. Considering the spread of the game worldwide, key significant figures were honoured for their significant contribution by presenting them the Love and Peace Shield in the presence of the participating teams.

During the annual celebration held at the Mubadala Arena located at Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi, H.E. Mohammed bin Thaloub Al Deri was honoured the IJF by granting him the IJF’s Gold Shield signed by the 200-member states. The award was granted to H.E. Bin Thaloub in appreciation of the important role he has been playing in spreading the game and the immense quality leap achieved by the UAE throughout the past years in Judo, besides his role in supporting the game in the Gulf region and the Middle East. The IJF Hungarian President Marius Pfizer announced the selection of Al Deri as IJF’s Extraordinary Ambassador for Friendship and Peace in recognition of his great role in supporting Judo, the current broad base of the game and the successes achieved by Abu Dhabi while holding different Judo championships under the IJF’s supervision marking the 10th anniversary since holding the first championship in UAE in 2009.

Mohammed bin Thaloub Al Deri, President of the UAE Wrestling and Judo Association, stressed that his selection by IJF to be the Ambassador for Peace and Friendship and granting him IJF’s Honorary Membership Certificate signed by the Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Honorary President of the International Judo Federation, awarded to influential figures and supporters of the game worldwide, made him so proud and honoured as the first Emirati to receive such a high-level international sporting medal. He underlined: “Such recognition is not for me personally, but for the UAE. As the days go on, the UAE proves itself to be the country of friendship, tolerance and peace. The UAE has been and will remain a safe haven for advocates of peace whose principles were established by the founding father of UAE, late Sheikh Zayed, may God rest his soul in peace, and the wise leadership of the UAE who are following his steps and turning the land of the UAE into the land of goodness and love where different nations of the world get together.

Mohammed Bin Thaloub Al Deri extended his appreciation to the IJF President, Marius Pfizer, for IJF’s great confidence in him and his appreciation for the great effort exerted by the UAE to improve the sports sector as a whole and the Judo in particular. He concluded: “Granting the UAE this honour and the high-level medal as the fourth figure selected to be the Ambassador of Peace and Friendship, is one of the UAE’s and its sports sector gains. Definitely, we are so proud to be Emiratis and serve our homeland through its local and international gates.”

Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, said that the successful launch of KhalifaSat from Japan on Monday is a defining and historic Emirati and Arab moment. “We also recall the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and The Founding Fathers while feeling pride and honor for all they did to enable us to reach this moment,” Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed said.

Sheikh Hazza posted on his official Twitter account on Monday: “The launch of KhalifaSat is a defining and historic Emirati and Arab moment, in which we recall the past efforts that have led us to this glorious occasion. We also recall the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and The Founding Fathers while feeling pride and honor for all they did to enable us to reach this moment.

He added: “We also thank His Highness Sheikh Khalifa, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, who established the foundations of science and knowledge and placed their full trust in the UAE’s children to make a difference. The launch of KhalifaSat is a strong motivator for the youth to achieve accomplishments and successes.”

By the end of Al Ain Jujitsu Professionals international Tournament, Al Ain Jujitsu Team succeeded in clinching 37 colored medals. Noteworthy, the tournament was held during 26-27 October 2018 at the indoor court of Khalifa Stadium in Al Ain Club.

The champs of Al Ain Jujitsu Team won the highest number of gold medals compared to other participating teams. The team won 21 gold medals, in addition to 5 silver and 11 bronze medals.

Winners were honored by the end of the tournament by H.E. Khamis Obeid Al Ka’abi, Chairman of Al Sports Games, H.E. Saleh Al Shouaili and H.E. Khwaiter Al Dhaheri, board members of Al Ain Sports Games.

With high morale, the stars of Al Ain First Volleyball Team sustained their preparations for the final match of the Vice-President’s Cup against Al Nasr Volleyball Team scheduled to be held on Friday 26th October 2018 at the indoor court of Al Jazira Club in Abu Dubai.

The Brazilian head coach focused during the training sessions on the defensive and offensive tactics to avoid any potential mistakes in the final match.

Al Ain team strives to clinch their third title of the Vice-Present’s Cup and the second in a row after beating Bani Yas in the last season.

The final countdown is on. Today marks 50 days until the FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2018 kicks off on 12 December. Coinciding with this milestone, FIFA earlier this month gave the green light to the two host stadiums in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain as the UAE continues its preparations to welcome the best club sides on the planet.

Abu Dhabi’s famous Zayed Sports City Stadium and Al Ain’s state-of-the-art Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium can now put the finishing touches on preparations for the world’s leading players to take the field, after passing an inspection carried out by the FIFA delegation.

The two venues, already world-class arenas in their own right, were put through a thorough examination, passing key tests across several criteria in order to be confirmed as host stadiums for the seven-team, eight-match tournament, which runs from 12-22 December.

The FIFA team inspected the two stadia as part of its ongoing work with the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), collaborating across several areas including safety, security, structural and technical measures, access control, TV, media, marketing and all areas linked to the competition.

The stadium approvals marked the beginning of the 50-day countdown as excitement builds for the return to the UAE of defending champions Real Madrid CF (as UEFA Champions League winners), and the continental kings from FIFA’s confederations: CONCACAF (North and Central America and the Caribbean), CAF (Africa) AFC (Asia), OFC (Oceania) and CONMEBOL (South America).

“Today marks a milestone moment as we build towards an exciting 11-days of world-class tournament football in December. Zayed Sports City and Hazza Bin Zayed Stadiums offer fans a great atmosphere and an unforgettable experience. Passing the inspection means they can now put the finishing touches on preparations to give teams, supporters and tournament stakeholders a truly world-class competition,” said His Excellency Aref Al Awani, Tournament Director LOC, FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2018.

With a seating capacity of 43,000, Zayed Sports City Stadium is the largest stadium in the UAE. The Abu Dhabi venue will host the FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2018 tournament final, as well as the semi-final between Real Madrid CF and the winners of the match between CONCACAF champions CD Guadalajara and AFC Champions League winners on 19 December, followed by the third place play-off and final on 22 December.

Al Ain’s Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium is a 25,000 seat, state-of-the-art stadium and home to the tournament’s host team Al Ain FC. Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium will stage the tournament opener between Al Ain FC and OFC champions Team Wellington FC on 12 December, followed by the AFC champions vs CD Guadalajara match on the 15 December and the quarter-final between the CAF (African) champions and the winners of the first match.

As part of Al Ain Club’s community initiatives, the students of Al Rifaa School were hosted at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium. The tour included visiting the players’ change room and entry hall. The students experienced a very exciting tour and took photos in the Stadium pitch.

By the end of the tour, the students participated in sports and entertainment activities that took place in the football fields next to the stadium.
