Hazza bin Zayed to attend enthronement of Japanese Emperor

(WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, arrived in Tokyo to attend the enthronement ceremony of Japanese Emperor Naruhito, which is scheduled to be held at the Imperial Palace on Tuesday.

Attending on behalf of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and at the invitation of the Japanese government, Sheikh Hazza will take part in the ceremony along with other heads of states and dignitaries.

The Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council is accompanied by Dr. Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State and Special Envoy to Japan, Hamad Mubarak Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Petroleum Council, Jaber Mohammed Ghanem Al Suwaidi, General Director of the Crown Prince Court of Abu Dhabi, and Major General Staff Pilot Ibrahim Nasser Mohammed Al Alawi, Commander of the Air Force and Air Defence.

H.E. Khamis Obeid Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Al Ain Sports Games Club Company, underlined that Al Ain Club is so keen to contribute to realizing the strategy of the UAE Jujitsu Association (UAEJA) set up to establish the standing of the UAE in introducing new international champs of the game.

He added: “Holding the Al Ain International Jujitsu Professional Championship for the sixth time in a row marks the genuine interest of the UAE residents in this sport and its values.”
“Indeed, the attendance of loyal jujitsu fans in massive numbers shows their passion for this sport and to follow the competitions and rounds of the championship,” Al Kaabi pointed out.

On the dates of the championship and whether they contradict with the days of the World Jujitsu Championship, he said: “The timeframe selected to hold this years’ championship carefully as it precedes the dates of the World Jujitsu Championship.”

“This year, we are seeking to apply the highest standards of refereeing and organization to host the championship in the right manner befitting the loyal fans attending the rounds of all competitions scheduled to be held in Al Ain City in coordination with UAEJA.”

Al Kaabi also stressed his confidence in the potentials of the Club’s jujitsu champions exhibit an honorable performance and their ability to achieve significant positive results and win medals befitting the name of the boss of UAE clubs.

In an official press conference held at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium on 13th October 2019, Al Ain Club signed a memorandum of understanding with Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy dedicated to establishing the first, U-12, U-14 and U-16 women’s football teams.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by H.E. Al Khamis Obaid Al Kaabi, Chairman of Al Ain Sports Games Club Company, Houriya Al Taheri, Technical Director of Women’s Football Committee, Abdullah Hassan, representative of UAEFA, Fatima Al Ameri, representative of the the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy and a number of Al Ain players and media representatives.

The MoU aims to give the opportunity for all talented women to practice their favored sport, considering that the Club will participate in local and international tournaments.

Moreover, the MoU aims to give special attention to women’s sports in light of the never-ending support given by H.H. Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), the “Mother of the UAE,” and her incessant encouragement to the Emirati women in various fields.

Khamis Obaid Al Kaabi, Chairman of Al Ain Sports Games Club Company, expressed his deep pleasure in signing the MoU, which is meant to support the women’s football in Al Ain City.

“Signing the MoU will make women’s football keep pace with the successes achieved by the Club in the other sports on top of which is jujitsu, bow and arrow, and swimming,” he commented.

Al Kaabi pointed out that Al Ain Sports Games Club Company will be in charge of the women’s football team and that all the team’s matches and training sessions will be held at Tahnoon Bin Mohammed Stadium in Al Qattara.

He also underlined that the door would be open for all the society segments to join the newly set up teams.

He concluded his statement by saying: “The women’s first, U-12, U-14, and U-16 teams have already been formed. We, in Al Ain Club, are honored with this important step, which we hope will help the Club to clinch more titles in the name of the Club.”

Houriya Al Taheri, the Head Coach of the UAE National Women’s Team, said that the MoU signed with the Al Ain Club will be just the beginning of signing other MoUs with the local football clubs.

She stated: “This MoU is a charter for action through which the two parties seek to achieve long-lasting cooperation by unifying the goals they seek to achieve and develop.”

She also indicated that the terms of the MoU would be put into effect as soon as the joint programs are set up and initiated.
In her brief speech she delivered in the press conference, Fatima Al Ameri, the representative of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy, stated that the pronounced support of H.H. Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, the “Mother of the UAE”, and care given to the Emirati women triggers motivation to boost efforts to achieve more developments.

Al Ameri expressed her deep pleasure for concluding such an impressive partnership. “It represents a breakthrough for the clubs and allows the official participation in the women’s football league, as well as to compete to win local and international titles with sights always are set high to raise the UAE flag in all sports events.”

In his turn, Mr. Abdullah Hasan, UAEFA representative, said: “There is broad cooperation between the UAEFA and the Ministry of Education to further spread the women’s football in UAE.”

He also pointed out: “To achieve this goal, numerous workshops were held, and the UAEFA hosted certain competitions and training courses for women’s coaches, and the latest was held to obtain the “C” License.”

Abdullah Hassan underlined that the announcement of Al Ain Club, the home of football in the UAE, to establish a women’s football team is a significant quantum leap in this sport.

Under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, First Vice President of Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club, First Vice President of the Honorary Council and Chairman of the Board of Directors, the club awarded honorary memberships to Hazza Al Mansoori and his companion Sultan Al Neyadi – the first two Emirati astronauts – for being national role models.

The club also decided to name two stadiums at its football academy after Al Mansoori and Al Neyadi, in recognition of their efforts and key roles in turning the dreams of the UAE into reality, which brought happiness to every Emirati citizen and resident.

Al Ain Club Honors the Champs of Jujitsu and Swimming

The Board of Directors of Al Ain Sports Games Club honored the champs of the UAE National Team and Al Ain Club jujitsu and swimming teams who won gold, silver and bronze medals during their participation in the away competitions.

H.E. Khwaiter Al Dhaheri, the member of the Board of Directors of Al Ain Sports Games Club, honored the Jujitsu champions who participated in the Balkan U-18 Championship, held in Bucharest in Romania, in early September. By the end of the championship, Mohammed Saeed Al Ketbi and Rashid Mohammed Al Shehhi won the first place and the gold medal. Suhail Ismael Al Bloushi and Mohammed Talal came in second place and were awarded the silver medals.

H.E. Khwaiter also honored the champs of the UAE National Swimming Team, who participated in the 27th GCC Water Sports Championship, which was held in Kuwait during 5-8 September 2019.

By the end of the championship, Mohammed Rashid Al Kuwaiti won the silver medal in the 100 breaststroke within 1.20.60, breaking the record of this competition. He also won the silver medal in the 50 meters breaststroke in 36.60, breaking the UAE record and won the bronze medal in the 50 meters freestyle in 29.65.

Swimmer Saif Ghareeb Al Bloushi placed second and won the silver medal in the 200 meters in medley competitions in 2.41.92, and the bronze medal in the 100 meters in backstroke competitions in 1.17.15.

H.E. Khwaiter hailed the accomplishments achieved by the champs of Al Ain Club and the UAE National Team Jujitsu and swimming sports with the national team. he stated; “We are proud of such immense achievements, achieved in the name of our blessed homeland, and by the heroes of Al Ain who contributed to raising the name of the UAE in foreign sports events.”

Al Dhaheri stressed that the results achieved were not a surprise, but rather the result of the efforts exerted by the coaching teams and constant follow-up of all technical issues by the club. “We will pursue our dream to have swimmers playing in the international swimming competitions.”

Al Ain Sports Games Hosts Mestre Sylvio Behring the “Jaguar of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu”

As part of its efforts to improve the performance of Al Ain Jiu-jitsu Team, Al Ain Sports Games Club hosted the most prominent Brazilian Jiu-jitsu coach on Monday 23rd September 2019 during the regular training session of the team at the indoor court of Al Nahianyeh School.

Sylvio is one of the founders and developers of the foundations of the game. His innovative Progressive System of teaching BJJ is amazing and so easy to follow that anyone can learn the moves and how to apply them either in the street or in competition or even as a complementary system to your present martial arts your teaching.

During the seminar, the international coach Sylvio tackled some critical tips, lessons, and movements in the ju-jitsu game designed to further develop the skills of players.

H.E. Khwaiter Al Dhaheri, Board Member of Al Ain Sports Games Company, extended his sincerest appreciation to coach Sylvio for accepting the invitation and holding the seminar. He stressed the significance of the seminar aimed to provide the players with tips and professional advice to boost their professional quality skills in competitions, in addition to the demonstration of specific tactics to win any opponent in games.

He added: “The seminar is meant to expose stars of the team for more rich experiences by taking advantage of meeting a significant and one of the stars of the game. Also, we aimed to refine the skills of the players and invest in their quality potentials and skills, to create an ideal environment for training, to exchange experiences and to learn more from the best coaches of the world. Our ultimate goal is to further improve the level of the team’s players.”

In his turn, Sylvio thanked Al Ain Sports Games Club for holding such a seminar. “It is an excellent opportunity to meet the young stars of Al Ain Ju-Jitsu Team and pass them valuable tips and skills they should master. The young stars showed outstanding performance during the training session.

He concluded his testament by wishing them all the best given their outstanding achievements and winning gold medals in all championships and tournaments.

Hazza bin Zayed inaugurates ‘King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street’ in Abu Dhabi

(WAM) — His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has ordered that one of the main streets in Abu Dhabi to be renamed in honour of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia.

The move is part of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and in honour of the achievements of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.

H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, on Monday inaugurated King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street, coinciding with the celebrations of Saudi Arabia’s 89th National Day.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by H.H. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of Executive Committee; Zaki Nusseibeh, Minister of State; Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Office; Jassim Mohammed Buatabh Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Department of Finance; Major General Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police; Falah Al Ahbabi, Chairman of the Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities; Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi; Turki bin Abdullah Al Dakheel, Saudi Ambassador to the UAE, along with other government officials.

King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street is one of the most active streets in Abu Dhabi. The 4.6 km long street starts from King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street all the way to the intersection of Al-Alam and Al-Kasser Streets. The street leads to the most important cultural and tourist landmarks in the UAE, including The Founder’s Memorial, Marina Mall and ADNOC headquarters.

The street is characterised by plants overlooking Marina Breakwater in an area that attracts a huge number of visitors, as it is considered as one of the most beautiful streets in Abu Dhabi.

Commenting on the announcement, Al Ahbabi said, “The decision to rename one of our most popular Abu Dhabi streets, is to honour the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King of Saudi Arabia, and to reinforce our unbreakable ties with the Kingdom and its people.

“Our strategic bilateral relationship encompasses various areas that benefit both countries, as recommended by the UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.”

This inauguration reflects the UAE’s appreciation and gratitude towards the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in serving the Islamic world.

King Salman has played a major role in strengthening the status of Saudi Arabia and the relationship between all GCC countries, while spreading the values of tolerance, thanks to his acclaimed humanitarian, Arab and Islamic views.

Hazza Bin Zayed, President of Togo review relations

(WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has received President Faure Gnassingbe of Togo, where they explored means of developing cooperation to achieve the aspirations of both countries leaderships and peoples, especially in the developmental, economic and investment fields.

During the meeting, which was held in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Hazza affirmed the UAE’s keenness to support comprehensive development initiatives and efforts in friendly countries under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

This, he said, will help achieve economic and social development in friendly countries and meet the aspirations of its people for a better future.

President Gnassingbe, in turn, expressed his happiness to visit the UAE, stressing his country’s interest in strengthening relations with the UAE and benefiting from its successful development experience especially in the field of human investment.

He also expressed his thanks for the UAE’s development and humanitarian assistance, appreciating its keenness to build bridges of cultural and economic communication with various countries, in addition to promoting the values of tolerance, coexistence and cooperation among peoples.

The two sides exchanged views on a number of issues of common concern.

Including Volleyball, Handball and Basketball Games.. ADSC Organizes the “Abu Dhabi Clubs Tournament of Group Games”

The Abu Dhabi Clubs Tournament of Group Games is scheduled to kick off on October 2019, including volleyball, basketball and handball games, Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) has recently announced.

Holding the new tournament comes as part of ADSC plans to improve the level of the capital’s sports teams ahead of the kickoff of the new season. It aims also to support the teams’ preseason preparations with rich experiences that would enhance the club’s position in the home and away competitions and add to their achievements, ADSC pointed out.

The announcement was made in the press conference held at the head office of the ADSC on Tuesday 17 September 2019. The media conference was attended by H.E. Stanimir Vukicevic, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the UAE, H.E. Evgeny Lazarev, Charge d’Affaires of Belarus to the UAE, H.E. Abdullah Al Darmaki, Vice Chairman of Al Ain Sports Games Company, H.E. Arif Hamad Al Awani, ADSC Secretary-General, Talal Al Hashemi, Director of Technical Affairs Department at ADSC, Ahmed Sultan Al Nuaimi, Sports Director of Al Ain Sports Games Company and representatives of the Abu Dhabi clubs.

The ADSC representatives revealed that the tournament is divided into three competitions, including volleyball, hand, and basketball. It is scheduled that eight teams will participate in each competition, including five clubs from Abu Dhabi along with other teams from Serbia, Belarus, Poland, Oman, and other regional teams.

As for the volleyball competition, it will be held with the participation of the five Abu Dhabi clubs alongside Oman’s Al Seeb Team, Belarus’ Energia Gomel, one of the best teams of the Belarus Volleyball League, in addition to a Polish team.

The tournament will be organized by the Al Ain Club and scheduled to be held during 24 October until 2 November at the Khalifa Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain City.

The Bani Yas Club indoor court will host the basketball competitions scheduled to be held during 25 October until 1 November. The five Abu Dhabi clubs, along with the Belarus’ Tesmoki Minsk Farm, one of the elite teams of the Belarus league, in addition to another team from Serbia and a regional team would participate in this event. Bani Yas Sports Company will organize the tournament.

The handball competitions will be held with the participation of the five Abu Dhabi clubs, along with Bjovk-Ska, one of the Belarus champions, and two other teams. The tournament will be held at Al Jazira Club indoor court during 8-16 November and will be organized by Al Jazira Sports Company.

The Al Ain, Al Jazira and Baniyas clubs, the hosts of the volleyball, basketball and hand competitions, have announced that all arrangements are set to receive the competing teams. The three clubs stated that they are in the process of forming the organizing committees and the final preparation phase.

Ahmed Sultan Al Nuaimi, Sports Director of Al Ain Sports Games Club, availed the opportunity to extend his sincere appreciation to the Abu Dhabi Sports Council for their support to organize such a significant sporting event. “This event is an ideal opportunity and an important preliminary camp for the teams of Abu Dhabi Clubs.”

He concluded that Al Ain Club would host the Volleyball Tournament with the participation of 8 clubs, including the five clubs in Abu Dhabi in addition to Oman’s Seeb Club and two clubs from Belarus and Poland.
