(WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and H.H. Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of the Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs, ZHO, today joined with the people of determination in raising the UAE flag at the Zayed Agricultural Centre for Development and Rehabilitation, as an expression of loyalty to the nation and its wise leadership.

Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed expressed his appreciation to Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed for his visit and unlimited support for the people of determination, as well as his participation in the national occasion of raising the UAE flag at the centre, which reflects the desire of the nation’s leadership to support people of determination.

He stressed that the flag raising activities taking place in the organisation’s care and rehabilitation centres are precious occasions for all UAE nationals and residents, especially as they coincide with the 12th anniversary of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s accession to the Presidency of the UAE.

Al Ain Men Volleyball Team achieved a thrilling victory over Egypt’s Al Zamalek Club by three rounds to two in the match held on Tuesday 31st October at the indoor court of the National Sports Center in Cairo the capital. The match was held as part of the team’s schedule of their away camp commenced last week and will last for 10 days.
The match was quite exciting since the kickoff whistle and witnessed a fierce competition between both sides but Al Ain was successful in finishing the first round by 25-23. Al Zamalek refused to lose and came back to win the second round by 25-22. Excitement reached its climax in the third round which witnessed draw result in many occasions but Al Zamalek was decisive and finished this round by 30-28. Al Ain was able to level again in the fourth round and outperformed AL Zamalek to win by 25-21. Consequently, the match extended to a fifth and final round where Al Ain dominated it since its start and managed to win that final round by 15-12 and to win the match by 3-2 accordingly.
This match is the second friendly one for Al Ain with the same team as part of the team’s away camp in Cairo. The Boss will play another two matches as the team is scheduled to meet Al Ahli and Al Jaish Team teams in the coming days. It is planned that Al Ain Volleyball delegation returns back home on Saturday 4th November 2017.

Al Ain Men Volleyball Team lost their recent match against Egypt’s Al Jaish Volleyball Team by three rounds to one in the friendly match held at the indoor court of National Sports Centre in Cairo. The match comes as part of the team’s program of the away camp which is going to be concluded by Saturday 4th November.

Al Ain dominated the first round and finished it to their advantage by 25-22. However, Al Jaish players levelled the result and won the second round by 27-25 and were able to finish the third and fourth rounds in their favour by 25-17 and 25-15 to win the friendly match by 3-1.

Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, visited the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Executive Council, where he viewed the work done by the subsidiary departments and offices, and discussed with the work teams the means to raise the standards of government work according to the best international practices.

Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Dr. Fahad Matar Al Niyadi, Director-General of the General Secretariat of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and several directors of the departments and offices, as well as work teams in the General Secretariat of the Executive Council, received His Highness.

Sheikh Hazza was explained several developmental projects being executed by the General Secretariat with the aim of consolidating the government’s work system, either at the Secretariat level or at the level of the government authorities in Abu Dhabi. These would facilitate and improve the government services offered to the community and are in line with the total development journey witnessed by Abu Dhabi, which would strengthen its leading position at the regional and international level.

He examined the steps taken by the General Secretariat to develop the legislative system and keep up with the needs of the business sector, as well as the developments in the economic, social and service areas. He also reviewed the system for an appraisal of the performance of the authorities, in addition to the strategies that would facilitate effective communication between the government authorities, as well as guarantee the integration of efforts, and move towards establishing a culture of excellence in government work through awareness and practices of the employees of the government authorities in the emirate.

Sheikh Hazza viewed several initiatives and projects that are being executed by the General Secretariat, as part of its strategic plan, including the ‘Knights’ Race’ Project, which aims to encourage the employees to apply the best systems and professional practices in a positive and competitive environment.

He also learnt about the interactive initiatives launched and executed by the General Secretariat to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s identity and preserve its distinguished media’s reputation, as well as promote the emirate according to its stature worldwide as a favoured destination to live and work, and respond to what it has achieved through advancement in the sectors of business, education, health and infrastructure.

Sheikh Hazza took account of the progress in the ‘Imagine Abu Dhabi’ project, which was launched by the General Secretariat to encourage the members of the Abu Dhabi community to contribute with innovative ideas and develop a government work system in all its sectors and specialisations. His Highness also visited the daycare at the General Secretariat building.

He stressed the importance of continuing the efforts to preserve the emirate’s achievements in the journey of development, which is considered an important foundation to establish Abu Dhabi as a favoured destination with a creative environment, which would cater to all the demands for creativity, innovation and pioneering.

As part of their away camp in Egypt which will continue until 4th November, Al Ain Volleyball Men Team lost their first friendly matches to Al Zamalek by 3-1 when the two met on Sunday evening at the indoor court of the National Sports Center in Cairo.

The match was strong from both sides but Al Zamalek was able to win the first two rounds by 25-16 and 25-20. Al Ain in contrast was able to win the third round by 25-21 but they could not keep it up and lost the fourth round by 17-25 to finish the match by 3-1 in favor of the host team.

Abdullah Zowayyed Al Nuaimi, the Team Administrative Manager, emphasized: “Al Ain team exhibited a satisfactory level of performance despite losing the match. They benefited from playing against the strongest and biggest teams at the Arab and African levels and not to forget that the home team has highly skilled players.”

He underlined the fact that: “Al Ain’s Head Coach desires to grant the chance for as many players as he could to play in these friendly matches for further assessment of their performance to ensure that they are ready for the coming season.”

“The team is not considering the matches’ results as we are focusing on leveraging the team’s level of performance in this camp,” said he.

“The camp’s atmosphere is supportive and fine and that the team conducts two training sessions, that is, in the morning and evening on a daily basis in an indoor court,” added he.

Noteworthy, Al Ain team is holding their camp in the sports center for training the Egyptian national teams in Ma’adi District in Cairo. The center is a complex dedicated for all collective and individual sports and it has a hotel within its perimeters.

Al Ain Handball Team lost to Shabab Al Ahli Dubai by 25-26 in matchweek 5 of the Premier Handball League which was held at Shabab Al Ahli Dubai Club Dubai Club Court in Al Qusais.

The two teams break for the first half and the result was draw by 14 goals each. The two teams were playing intensely and strongly since the kick off whistle but the second half witnessed a superiority of Al Ain team who controlled the match and took the lead by two goals. However, the referee sent Al Ain player, Abdullah Abdul Rahman, off by red card following a friction with the opponent player at the limits of the circuit. This gave Shabab Al Ahli Dubai team the advantage who were able to regain the lead in the last critical minutes by one goal only and to finish the match by 26-25.

Al Ain Handball Team concluded their preparations to encounter Shabab Al Ahli Dubai in matchweek 4 of the Premier Handball League scheduled to be held in the evening of Friday 27th October at Shabab Al Ahli Dubai Club Court in Al Qusais.

The Tunisia’s Head Coach of Al Ain Team, Mohamed Abu Ghazaleh, confirmed that his team is ready for the coming match and stressed that it is a must to collect the three points of this match to compensate the team’s last loss against Al Nasr which pushed our place in the standing table back to the 4th position. He emphasized that the team should do their best to win the match.

“The players’ morale is high and they have fierce competition among them to secure their place in the starting lineup of the coming match. They did address all the mistakes committed in the last matches and fix them,” added he.

Currently, Al Ain is in the fourth place in the standing table with 8 points behind the lead team Sharjah with 12 points and Al Nasr and Al Wasl who hold 9 points in their balances.

Al Ain Volleyball First Team departed last Thursday from Abu Dhabi International Airport heading to the Egyptian capital, Cairo, for their away training camp in preparation for the local competitions of this season.

The training camp will last for 10 days and will end by 4th November. It is scheduled that the “Boss” will play four friendly matches against Al Zamalek “twice”, Al Ahli and Al Jaish volleyball teams.

It is worth mentioning that Al Ain Volleyball Team has recently clinched the Vice President Cup to be their first titles of this current season. The team looks forward to be well prepared for the General League Championship which will kick off on 10th November facing Bani Yas, the runners up of the Vice President Cup, at the indoor court of Khalifa Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain City.

Abdullah Al Shamesi, Administrative Manager Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Team, commended the impressive organization of Al Ain International Professional Jujitsu Championship held at the Emirates University in Al Ain City. He stressed that it is one of the biggest championships as it witnessed the participation one of the strongest Jiu-Jitsu professionals worldwide.

“Al Ain players were able to have an impressive participation by picking up 17 gold medals in the championship and away from their closest rivals. Our goal now is to win the remaining titles of this season,” Al Shamesi said.

He emphasized: “We prepared well for the President’s Cup Tournament which is one of the most important competitions of this current season.” Al Shamesi concluded by saying: “Players know that they have to uphold the title of the championship, particularly they are champs of the last year’s edition.”

Khwaiter Al Daheri, member of the Board of Directors of Al Ain Sports Club, expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to UAE Jiu-Jitsu Association for their interest in prompting this sport and the stunning organization of all competitions through supervising them technically, and furnishing the appropriate atmosphere to develop the players’ skills via holding championships constantly.

Furthermore, Khuwaiter commended the impressive level of Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu players during their participation in the two-day Al Ain International Professional Jujitsu Championship held at the Emirates University in Al Ain City. The Boss’ players won 17 gold medals and showed a stunning performance that reflects the importance of the game to the Club and the superb level of preparation for such competitions, besides furnishing the appropriate atmosphere to realize such achievements.

Al Dhahiri stated that the championship witnessed a fierce competition among all the participating teams. He said: “We know that the participating teams in the championship included professional players from outside and inside UAE. However, we always have full trust in our players’ level based on the experience they gained through previous games they played with UAE National Team or the Club. Indeed, such an experience reflected positively on their results and winning the gold medals in this championship.”
