Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu athletes won the gold at Al Ain International Pro Jiu-Jitsu Championship held at the UAE University in Al Ain City where the topnotch stars from more than 44 countries competing during the two-day championship.
Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu athletes were able to clinch 17 gold medals during their participation in the championship with Hamad Al Ahbabi won 50kg junior gold medal, Salim Al Dhahiri won the 55 kg junior gold medal, Khalid Al Taher 60 kg blue belt gold medal, Hamdan Al Bolshoi 83 purple belt gold medal, Zayed Al Ka’abi won the 108 kg brown belt gold medal, Sari Al Ketbi won junior blue belt gold medal, Salem Al Dhahiri winning a gold medal in the 94kg junior blue belt category. As for the girls’ categories, Mahra Al Hina’i won the junior blue belt gold medal of 57 kg.
As for the professional categories, Khalid Al Tahir won 62 kg blue belt gold medal and 62 kg blue belt gold medal, Hamad Al Nuaimi 85 kg blue belt gold medal, Khalid Al Darmaki 85 kg blue belt gold medal, Mohammed Al Menhali 69 kg purple belt gold medal, Wadima Al Yafei’ 49 kg blue belt gold medal, Maha Al Hana’i 55 kg blue belt gold medal, Khawla Al Haaj 62 kg blue belt gold medal and Bashayer Al Matrouchi 70 kg blue belt gold medal.
Al Ain handball team lost their match against the home team Al-Nasr by 26-23 in matchweek 4 of the Premier League held at Al Nasr Court in Dubai.
The two teams ended the first half by a draw result 11-11 for both.
With this loss, Al Ain will get only one point and their score will rise to eight points. The team will be hosted by Shabab Al Ahli Dubai in matchweek 5 of the League.
Abdullah Al Darmaki, Vice-Chairman of Al Ain Sports Club, emphasized that they deserved to win the Vice President Volleyball Cup after defeating Bani Yas in the final match. He stressed that winning the match by 3-1 was not easy and that Al Ain team was up to the challenge and played with high fighting spirit.
“Congrats for Al Ainawi Nation for a well-deserved victory. Both teams played a strong match and they proved to be significant and noteworthy teams in UAE volleyball,” said he.
Argentina’s Head Coach of Al Ain Volleyball Team, Joseph, expressed his great pleasure by clinching the first title of the new season winning Bani Yas in the final match of the Vice-President Cup. He hailed the genuine fighting spirit of the team players they showed during the rounds of the match and admitting that the match against the “Blues”, who were a fierce competitor during the whole rounds, was not easy at all.
“We played a game against a strong opponent and as I expected. I would like to avail this opportunity to pay tribute to the players for they fight bravely to win each point. Actually, the Emirati players took the full load because the professional teammate was not ready enough due to injury. It is true that we did not show our genuine strong personality in the match, but in general I am happy by the result.”
Al Ain volleyball player, Mohammed Shamal, expressed his deepest pleasure for being crowned with the Vice-President Cup at the expense of Bani Yas Team. He commended the efforts his teammates’ and Argentina’s Head Coach, Joseph, stressing that winning the “Blues” was not an easy mission at all and they expected the match will be intense and fierce because their competitor’s power.
“Our determination to be crowned with the title was unlimited. We were well aware that the match would not be easy. We are satisfied by the team’s performance and the title as well and Adel Atta participation in the match made the difference which confirms that the level of our bench is similar to the starting lineup players,” added he.
Al Ain volleyball player Mohammed Suleiman commended his teammates and the Argentina’s Head Coach Joseph for winning the first title this season. He stressed that the team’s goal is to seal all titles in all competitions which the team will take part in. He underlined that it is important to exhibit the best levels of performance in all matches and win them in terms of performance and the results as well.
“It was a difficult game as we expected. Nevertheless, with the efforts of my teammates who excitedly played with the spirit of the team along with the Head Coaches’ right assessment of the match, we were able to clinch the first title of this season,” added he.
He concluded his statement by saying: “Winning the Vice-President Cup confirms the intention of the team that we are determined to win all the titles.”
Al Ain Volleyball First Team tucked away the title of the Vice President Volleyball Championship when they defeated Bani Yas Team by 3-1 in the final match held at Sheikh Saeed Bin Maktoum Court at Shabab Al Ahli Dubai Club. By that result the team deserved to be crowned by gold medals while the Blues got the silver ones.
Al Ain managed to end the first round to their advantage by 25/23, but the Blues were able to level in the second round and ended it by 25/22 for their advantage. Al Ain fought strongly in the third round and ended it by 25/21 in their favor and the fourth round by 25/22 to be crowned with their first title this season.
Al Ain hit a new record by winning the title with zero losses. The Boss achieved landside victories in all their matches they played since the group stage by beating Hatta 3-0, Shabab Al Ahli Dubai 3-1, Bani Yas 3-1 and winning Ajman in the semi-finals by 3-0.
Al Ain’s Men Volleyball Team had completed their preparations this Thursday evening and is ready to play against Bani Yas team in the final match of the Vice President Cup scheduled to be held at 7 p.m. on this Friday at the club Shabab Ahli Dubai Court (Ex-Al Shabab Court).
The Argentine’s Head Coach Joseph put the final touches for his plan for the coming match against the Blues during the final and last training session where he focused on crucial aspects like winning all serfs, enhancing the back line and the rebuff wall, beating overpowering into the opponent’s area and exploiting their weaknesses.
Worth mentioning, the Boss reached the finals subsequent to clinching the full points in the Groups Stage by winning Hatta 3-0, Shabab Al Ahli Dubai by 3-1 and Bani Yas by 3-1 while winning Ajman in the semi-finals by 3-0.
Al Ain Volleyball First Team carried on their preparations for their final match against Bani Yas Club in the Vice President Cup scheduled to be held this coming Friday at the club Shabab Ahli Dubai Court (Ex-Al Shabab Court).
The Boss held a number of training sessions on a day-to-day basis at the indoor court at Khalifa Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain Club supervised by the team’s Argentina’s Head Coach Joseph and attended by all the team’s players, technical, administrative and medical staff.
The Head Coach focused on avoiding mistakes committed by the team during the past matches and lessons learned. He was also keen to leverage the concentration level among players through particular exercises, and conducted an internal division to determine his final starting lineup.
The Boss looks forward to snatch his first title in the new season prior the kickoff of the league competitions following their landside victory against Ajman Team in the semi-finals.

Worth mentioning, the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, won the sponsorship of the 2017 WorldSkills Competition held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of UAE Armed Forces, and will end by this Thursday at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center. By hosting this event, UAE becomes the first country in the Middle East to host this biennial competition hosted by one of the world’s cities.
