Al Ain Volleyball Men’s Team lost their first match against Bani Yas team by 2-3. The fervent match was held at the court of Khalifa Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain Club in matchweek 1 of the Volleyball Premier League.

The results of the match rounds were as follows: 25-21 for Al Ain, 19-25 for Bani Yas, 25-21 for Al Ain, 30-32 for Bani Yas and 12-15 for Bani Yas.

The winners of the recent edition of the League are scheduled to play against Hatta in matchweek 2 on Friday 17th November 2017 at the court of Al Dhara School in Hatta.

In a press conference held on Thursday 9th November 2017 dedicated to tackle the issues related to the decision taken recently by the UAE Volleyball Association on the Final Cup Re-Match against Bani Yas which ended previously by 3-1 in favor of Al Ain Volleyball Team, Al Ain Sports Games Company held a press conference at Khalifa Bin Zayed Stadium chaired by Abdullah Al Darmaki, Deputy Chairman of Al Ain Sports Games Company and in the presence of Al Ain professional player, Vladimir.

Abdullah Al Darmaki underlined that Al Ain SG still sticks to their right and would not squander it while pointing out that the decision means ruining all the players’ efforts who have already earned the title meritoriously.

Al Darmaki renewed Al Ain SG requests addressed previously to the UAEVA which included providing the company with the grounds of the decision entailing the final cup re-match and a copy of the correspondences exchanged among Bani Yas Club, UAEVA and the International Volleyball Federation.

Commenting on a question regarding Al Ain SG further steps if their requests are dismissed by UAEVA, Al Darmaki emphasized: “We aim at finding a fair solution and we have full trust in the Chairman of UAEVA and the Board Members to set things on the right track; otherwise, we will refer the whole issue to the International Volleyball Federation and then to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, if necessary. However, let’s hope that things would be sorted out flawlessly. “

The higher local organizing committee of the FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2017 held a meeting at Abu Dhabi Sports Council Offices on Wednesday, 8 November 2017.

The meeting came to review and to discuss latest preparations to hold this event in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain City in the period 6-16 December 2017.

So far, seven teams are confirmed to take place in this championship. Those teams are Al Jazira UAE- Arabian Gulf League Champions, Auckland City-champions of Oceania, and Real Madrid of Spain -UAFEA champions, Pachuca of Mexico champions of the Concacaf, and Wydad Casablanca of Morocco champions of Africa.

The champions of Libertadores (Lanus of Argentina or Gremio of Brazil) will be decided on 29 of this November.

The meeting-which was chaired by H.E. Major General Mohammed Khalfan Al Romaithi, General Commander of Abu Dhabi Police, Deputy Chairman of ADSC Board of Directors, and Head of the Higher Local Organizing Committee, reviewed and discussed all respective matters related to this event. This included security, marketing, media, technical and operational aspects.

The meeting has been attended by members of the committee: HE Mohamed Ebraheem Al- Mahmood, HE Aref Hamad Al Awani, HE Mohammed Hazzam Al Dhaheri, Mr. Nasser Al Shehhi as rapporteur and John Lickerish, CEO of Flash Entertainment Company. .

The FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2017 will kick off on 6 December 2017 at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain City, with the final to be played on 16 December 2017 at Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi.

By the end of the meeting, H.E. Mohammed Khalfan Al Romaithi praised the preparations to host and to organize the FIFA CWC UAE 2017.

Al Ain Men Handball Team lost his match against Al Sharjah which was held at the court of Al Sharjah Club in matchweek 7 of the Handball Premier League by 17-26.

The first half ended by the home team taking the lead scoring 11 goals while Al Ain scored only 8 goals.

Noteworthy, the League will be suspended for 3 months due to away championships which Al Sharjah Handball Team and UAE National Team will be taking part in. The League matches will be resumed by 12th February 2017.

(WAM) — His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has issued two resolutions detailing the appointment of Khalifa Salem Al Mansouri as Under-Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, ADDED, and Hamad Nukheirat Al Ameri as Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, ADHA.

Al Ain Sports Club officially announced their rejection of the decision made by the UAE Volleyball Association (UAEVA) mandating the Volleyball Vice- President’s Cup Final Re-Match between Al Ain and Bani Yas volleyball teams which entails by default to withdraw the title of the championship which the team has recently crowned deservedly and justly.

In a press statement made public on its official website, Al Ain Sports Club deplored the fact that: “Al Ain Club heard the news through mass media that Bani Yas has lodged a protest on the events that accompanied the final match. In the meantime, UAEVA did not adopt the principle of transparency and did not officially notify Al Ain Club on the details of the protest and complaint filed by the opponent team against Al Ain Club.”

Al Ain Sports Club also declared its reservation on the UAEVA’s decision which is entirely opaque, and called on the Association to give Al Ain Club the chance to review all the relevant correspondences addressed to the “International” Volleyball Federation.

Al Ain Sports Club mentioned in its statement that the club had got confirmed information that the UAEVA had already examined the case prior referring it to the International Volleyball Federation without notifying one of the parties of the case, that is Al Ain Sports Cub, which is an act goes against the principles of neutrality.

Al Ain Club stated also that they officially addressed a letter to UAEVA to confirm the validity of the news stated by the press and media means and requested them to provide the Club with a copy of the letter addressed to the International Volleyball Federation consistent with the principles of transparency.

The Management of Al Ain Sports Club stated: “UAEVA acknowledged the validity of what the media reported on the issue and that UAEVA has already addressed a letter to the International Volleyball Federation in order to rule on the legality of the decisions taken by the referees of the final match without providing the Club with a copy of that letter. Consequently, Al Ain Club communicated with UAEVA for a second time to provide the management of the Club with a copy of the letter to scrutinize the accuracy of the explanation of the situation and inquiries sent by the International Volleyball Federation.”

“UAEVA overlooked all the requests made by Al Ain Club with regard to the case of the Cup’s final re-match. Surprisingly, UAEVA issued a decision on Tuesday 6th November mandating to replay the final match on 28th November 2017 referring to the response letter issued by the International Volleyball Federation stating that the referees committed a mistake in implementing the regulations of the game with regard to the exceptional substitution based on merits of the case sent by the UAEVA to the International Volleyball Federation,” added Al Ain Club.

Al Ain Club ended their statement by wondering what the team did to be held liable for the referees’ mistakes, particularly that the Club fully complied with all regulations and rules of the game and did not commit any offense deserving punishment.

Al Ain Sports Club also stressed that there is no logic to hold the Club liable for the referees’ mistakes while the UAEVA has to punish the referees team or referees committee or at least to apologize courageously for failing to manage the whole matter. The Club also emphasized that there are no provisions in the game’s regulations stipulating to re-match as a result of a mistake in the implementation of the rules of the game, in addition to the fact that the officials tasked to run the match is fully responsible to implement all the rules of the game and should be familiar with its tiny details.

Al Ain Sports Club concluded its statement by stressing: “UAEVA could refer to the regulations of the game and its “international” bylaws where it is stated plainly that the referee is granted absolute powers and full confidence in managing the matches. Subsequently, Al Ain Sports Club demands the UAEVA officially to suspend the decision of Cup’s final re-match until the completion of deliberation processes of the case details on legal bases in line with the letter addressed to UAEVA on 6th November 2017 in which the Club objects to the decision taken.”

Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Team maintained their top position of the 2017- 2018 Jiu-Jitsu President’s Cup Championship with the end of 2nd Round held on Saturday morning 4th November 2017 at Al Jazeera Club in Abu Dhabi.

Al Ain Team get hold of 704 points in this round to be added to the points of 1st Round to earn 1352 in total and be at the top of the standing table maintaining the first place in 2nd round also.

The current edition of this championship is split into three categories for both males and females, namely: U-17, U- 20 and above 21. This year’s 2017- 2018 Jiu-Jitsu President’s Cup Championship is limited only to UAE male and female players in order to fuel competition among local clubs.

Noteworthy, whilst the current Jiu-Jitsu Championship grants local clubs the opportunity to take part in, it aims to dig in for quality skilled players who are eligible to join the national teams, bring them to light, provide care for them and then get them to winners’ circle.

Al Ain Men Handball Team achieved a thrilling victory over Al Wasl Team by 16-13 in matchweek 6 of Handball Premier League held at Al Ain Sport Hall at Khalifa Bin Zayed Stadium on Friday 3rd November.

Al Ain succeeded to come from behind in the second half though the team lost the first half for the visitors by 5-7 to finish the match in their favour by 16-13.

By this result, Al Ain is placed third in the standings table behind the leading team Al Sharjah and the runners-up Al Nasr. It is scheduled that the “Boss” will meet their counterpart Al Sharjah in matchweek 7 on Tuesday 7th November at Al Sharjah Handball Court.
