H.E. Khuwaiter Saeed Al Dhaheri, Board Member of Al Ain Sports Games Club and Supervisor of Individual Games, dedicated the Jujitsu Teams’ achievement to the Chairman and Board Members of Al Ain Club and all the members and fans of the club.

Noteworthy, Al Ain Youth Team clinched the title of the President’s Cup and Al Ain Female Team won the title of the Mother of the Nation’s Cup last Saturday.

Al Dhaheri pointed out that Al Ain Club strived hard to win the most precious title to the hearts of all players which motivated the team to exert great efforts to achieve this record since the kickoff of the tournament, in light of the technical and administrative readiness that has not stopped since the beginning of the season.

Al Dhaheri stressed: “We are satisfied with our achievements this year and we seek to raise the ceiling of our aspirations next season.”

He added: “Such local championships have contributed to the development of clubs’ performance by giving the opportunity to players of various categories and colored belts to add to their practical experience and to be crowned by titles that boost their self-confidence.”

Al Dhaheri concluded that Al Ain is one of the most important tributaries of the national team with professional players and new talents. He expressed his pride such an honor for the high prestigious level of the Club’s players in this game.

The ladies’ jujitsu competitions of the Mother of the Nation Cup were concluded at the Mubarak bin Mohammed in Abu Dhabi by Al Ain Team winning the title.

The competitions witnessed a quantum leap in the level of the women teams’ performance proved by the results achieved by the female participants. The confrontations were attended by a massive number of fans as an indication of the popularity of the game in UAE.

Amid high spirits, the stars of Al Ain First Volleyball Team are done with their preparations for the clash play-off match of the General Volleyball League against Bani Yas Volleyball Team scheduled to be held at the indoor court of Khalifa bin Zayed Stadium.

The “Boss” is playing this match while holding the top spot of the league. The coming first leg match will be against the “Blues” placed fourth on the standing table. The second leg match will be held on Friday 5th April at the indoor court of Bani Yas Club.

Al Ain Team tops the first stage of the league following playing 18 games where they won 16 matches and lost two matches to finish with 46 points in their balance. Meanwhile, Bani Yas is placed in the fourth place with 36 points earned them from 13 wins and losing 5 games.

The Boss squad seeks to regain the title of the favorite tournament, the General League, being successful in winning its title ten times and the last title they snatched was in 2016-2017 season.

Al Ain Team will be missing Ahmed Al Deeb for injury he suffered from since the kickoff of the season, along with Adel Atta who has recently joined the National Service troops.

On the occasion of the new achievement of Al Ain Youth Ju-Jitsu Team by clinching the first spot of the President’s Jiu-Jitsu Cup in addition to the achievement of Al Ain Girls Ju-Jitsu Team who were able to maintain the title of the Mother of the UAE for the third year in a row, H.E. Khamis Obaid Al Ka’abi, Chairman of Al Ain Sports Games Company, presented the significant achievements to the management of Al Ain Club, Board of Directors members and the loyal fans.

Al Ka’abi pointed out: “Preparations for this tournament kicked off since the start of the current season and we managed to maintain the top spot as of the first, second and three round in all the three categories in the President’s Ju-Jitsu Cup. However, in the last and final round we faced certain inevitable circumstances such as injured players and other who joined the National Service. All of these led to missing the chance to clinch the title in the men and junior categories.”

Al Ka’abi expressed his satisfaction with the extraordinary level of performance exhibited by Al Ain Ju-Jitsu Team this season in all home or away tournaments they participated in. He signed off: “A new exceptional plan will be developed for the coming season and we will do our best to avoid the challenges and barriers we faced this year. We all aim to clinch more tiles in the coming stages.”

During a visit he made today to the venue of the Special Olympics in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Hazza said: “We felt an atmosphere of renewed and positive energy among the athletes and volunteers who set a shining example of hope and determination,” he said.

Sheikh Hazza was accompanied during his tour by Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Hamed, Chairman of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, Mohamad Abdulla Al Junaibi, Chief of Protocol, Ministry of Presidential Affairs, and Chairman of the Higher Committee of the Special Olympics World Games, Abu Dhabi 2019, and a number of senior officials.

(WAM) — Terrorism has no religion and fanaticism and extremism are the source of all evils, H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, said in his comment on the Friday’s New Zealand mosque attacks, which he slammed as a “crime against humanity”.

“As forces of terror collude together on one evil target, which is destruction and wreaking havoc, the entire world has to unite and close ranks in countering terrorism and underpinning the values of tolerance,” Sheikh Hazza said.

He extended sincere condolences to the government and people of New Zealand and the families of the victims.

(WAM) — Al Ain received the “Flame of Hope”, after it toured the UAE’s emirates.

The flame arrived in the historical Al Jahili Fort after passing by the city’s zoo, with the participation of school students, before reaching the UAE University and the Hazza bin Zayed Stadium, where it was welcomed by officials from various government departments.

The Abu Dhabi Police, ADP, organised various activities during the celebration, and large crowds welcomed the Emirati and international athletes who carried the torch.

The function was attended by Sheikh Saeed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Dr. Maitha bint Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State, Hamad Nukhairat Al Ameri, Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, and several officials and officers from the Ministry of Interior and the ADP.

Brigadier Mohammed Suhail Al Rashedi, Acting Director of the ADP’s Criminal Security Sector, said that the country’s hosting of the Special Olympics in the capital, Abu Dhabi, highlights its pioneering international stature, praising the ministry’s support for the flame and its efforts to ensure its success, which will enable people of determination to showcase their talents and capabilities in such competitions.

In his speech during the celebration, he added that the participation of the police in the Flame of Hope March expresses its support and appreciation for the supreme message of the Special Olympics, which is in line with the country’s humanitarian values and civilised heritage.

The UAE will welcome more than 7,500 athletes from over 190 nations for the Special Olympics World Games, Abu Dhabi 2019, on 14th-21st March. They will compete in 24 officially sanctioned Olympic-style sports in what will be the first World Games to be held in the Middle East.
