(WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has said that Commemoration Day is a “glorious day” in the UAE’s history, adding that it “instills value of pride in all of us”.

In his speech that was published by the ‘Nation Shield’ magazine, Sheikh Hazza said that on this day, the UAE commemorates its martyrs, the heroes of the Armed Forces, who embodied the values of loyalty, devotion, sacrifice and courageousness.

“On this day that instills values of pride and glory in all of us, we pay tribute to our heroic martyrs, and we renew our loyalty to the wise leadership; President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates,” Sheikh Hazza said.

“Through Their Highnesses’ exceptional leadership and the moral and national values that they established in the souls of all Emiratis, we are creating generations of dedicated and devoted youth who are armed with science, knowledge and will, and who are ready to face all challenges,” he added.

Sheikh Hazza also paid tribute to the UAE Armed Forces, along with its leaders and members, adding that the Armed Forces have “become a model of building the Emirati personality that is proud of its civilised heritage, and is always prepared to safeguard the country’s accomplishments and protect its legacy”.

Sheikh Hazza also thanked the families and parents of the country’s martyrs, who “reflect the highest meanings of patience and established the values of sacrifice and bravery in the souls of the youth”.

“As we observe this glorious day, the Commemoration Day, during the Year of Zayed, we all feel pride and honour, because the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, is the one who established, in the Emirati people, one generation after another, this national spirit which encourages positive and constructive participation in our advancement and civilised journey,” he stressed.

In a thrilling match full of enthusiasm, Al Ain Handball Team lost their matchweek 1 of the Handball League to the home team, Al Sharjah, by 23-27. The match was held in the indoor court of Al Sharjah Club.

Despite losing the match, Al Ain exhibited an exceptional performance in the second half and was so close to overcome the home team in the last minutes.

Al Ain Team is scheduled to host Al Dhafra in matchweek 2 in the indoor court of Al Ain Club on Tuesday 4th December.

Al Ain First Handball Team picked up their training sessions in preparation for their first match in the Premier Handball League scheduled to be held on Tuesday 25th November 2018 at the indoor court of Al Sharjah Club.

Mustafa Al Ka’abi, The Team’s Administrative Manager, stated that the away training camp held in Cairo was so successful. “The camp was so intensive and the coaching team highly focused on leveraging the players’ physical and technical levels through holding two training sessions, in addition to the friendly matches which had positive impact on the team’s performance.”

On the team’s confrontation against Al Sharjah, Al Ka’abi said: “The Boss has already completed all the pre-planned preparations for this first match in the league. We hope the day are in their day and perform well and have a good starting point, given that the team has quality and skilful young players who wish them all the best in this coming match.”

The Al Ain Volleyball captain Salim Joahar hailed the team’s performance against Ajman in matchweek1 held last Friday 30th November 2018 ended by 3-1 in favour of the Boss.

Joahar stressed that the team trained well during the away training camp held in Cairo, in addition to the extensive training sessions held as soon as the team arrived home back from Cairo. “The coaching team focused on practicing certain tactical manoeuvres that helped the team to prevail in the recent match.”

As for the match, Joahar stated that the team did well and dominated the first round. “The second round was not that good due to committing mistakes and lack of focus, but it did not take that much time to be back to the right track and finish the third and fourth rounds in our favour and with quite good difference.” Joahar concluded by extending his best wishes to the team and be able to clinch the title of the current season.

Al Ain First Volleyball Team has kicked off the new season of the General Volleyball League by winning Ajman Team by 3-1 in the match held at the indoor court of Khalifa Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain Club.

The first round ended by Al Ain taking the lead with remarkable result 25-13. In the second round, the guests did their best and won it by 25-22. In the third and fourth rounds, Al Ain squad were determined to win and they did it by 25-16 and 25-14.

Following the win, Al Ain has earned the first three points in their journey in the competition prior playing against Al Wahda Team on Friday 7th December 2018.

The goalkeeper of Al Ain and UAE National Handball Team Ahmad Salem underlined that the results of the away training camp held in Cairo will be realized in this coming season. “The camp was so advantageous to the team for the great experiences that the players gained by playing against strong Egyptian teams who are well known for their vast experience at the African level.”

Ahmad Salem hailed the great and continuous efforts exerted by the coaching team during the camp to regain the high level of performance and be able to compete to win titles of the coming competitions. “I would like to praise my teammates and the coaching team for their commitment by the morning and evening training sessions and sleeping times despite the fact that this is the first away camp for the team.”

Noteworthy, the Al Ain Handball Team members just arrived at the Al Ain International Airport this Thursday 22nd November 2018 following the end of their two-week away training camp. The team played three friendly matches where he won Egypt’s National Youth Team, drew with Heliolido Handball Team and lost to Talaea El-Geish

“While attending the awards ceremony of the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Award for Motherhood and Childhood, we realise that the award is on par with the world’s largest prizes that elicit innovation and dedication to serving various segment of society by adopting mother- and children-focused initiatives,” Sheikh Hazza added.

H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, this evening attended the awards ceremony marking the announcement of the winners of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Award for Motherhood and Childhood.

As part of the joint cooperation and exchange between the UAE and Austrian Special Olympics Teams, the Austrian Special Olympics team toured Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium. The delegation was accompanied by members of the UAE Special Olympics and officials of Al Ain Club in charge of the stadium toured the vital facilities in the stadium.

The Austrian Special Olympics Team is holding their outreach away camp to exchange sports experiences among players during the period 17-24 November 2018.

The newly-joined player, Ahmad Saqer, coming from Al Wasl Handball Team stressed that the away training camp held in Cairo is intense and great one.

He underlined that playing against Egyptian teams is so important given the fact that such teams enjoy all the quality and experience. “Despite the difference in levels, Al Ain team achieved positive results in the first matches while we only lost the last match against Talaea El-Geish.

Saqer hailed the coaching team for the efforts they exerted to build a strong and harmonized team through establishing close relationships among the players in and off the playing court, in addition to holding training sessions focusing on tactical maneuvers in preparation for the league.

The player stressed that he is pleased to join Al Ain’s squad and that it was his everlasting wish to sign for Al Ain. “I will do my best to see the Boss again clinching titles and be on the coronation stages again.”

He concluded: “I have never felt that I am a stranger for the great spirits the team has and great relationships that the players enjoy. “

The Bosnian professional player of Al Ain Handball Team, Isaac Omair, pointed out that training camp in Cairo is so advantageous. “Players are up to it and fully adhered by the coaching team’s instructions.”

Omair stressed that he is fully in tune with the team’s players not only in the court but also off the court. “The team is fully ready for all competitions of the current season.”
