Al Ain Club Jujitsu Team were crowned by 5 colored medals in the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Jujitsu USA held in Los Angeles on 22nd September 20118.

Al Ain 9 fighters clinched two gold, two silver and one bronze medals. Mahra Al Hana’i and Bashayer Al Matroushi won two gold medals, Obied Al Nuaimi and Hassa Al Shamsi won two silver medals and Rashid Al Ka’abi was placed third and won a bronze medal.

Al Ain First Volleyball Team lost to Shabab Al Ahli Dubai by 3-0 in the match held at the indoor court of Al Jazira Club in Abu Dhabi as per of the preliminary round of the Vice-President’s Cup.

The results of the three rounds were as follows: 21-25, 25-28, 25-28.

As per the schedule of the championship, Al Ain is to play against Al Jazira at the indoor court of Shabab Al Ahli Club on Friday 28th September 2018.

(WAM) — The anniversary of the Saudi Arabia National Day is a dear occasion to all people in the GCC countries and the Arab world, said H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council.

Sheikh Hazza congratulated the Saudi leadership on the 88th National Day anniversary and expressed best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister.

“On this auspicious day, we celebrate with pride the fraternity, unity and common destiny and we express our best wishes to save the Kingdom, the King and the Crown Prince,” he added.

Numerous government and non-government organisations in the UAE are celebrating Saudi Arabia’s 88th National Day anniversary. Iconic buildings in the UAE are adorned with the Saudi flag and pictures of King Salman and Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

(WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has applauded the selection of the UAE capital as the safest city in the world for the second year by a website that collates crime statistics on the world’s major cities.

Numbeo, a website for crowd-sourced global data, has placed the Abu Dhabi first and given the lowest crime index of more than 300 cities.

“Congratulations again on the selection of our beloved capital as the ‘safest city in the word’, a much-coveted recognition that epitomises a track record of security, economic, cultural and developmental achievements, as security has always been the fundamental tenet of development, and vice versa,” Sheikh Hazza said in his comment on the impressive accomplishment.

“Cultural diversity and pluralism in the UAE have always been a source of pride and achievements,” he added.

Numbeo used an index that ranked 338 cities in an estimation of overall safety levels in any given city or a country, with the UAE capital surpassing major world cities, like Tokyo, Basel, Munich and Vienna, after its safety index amounted to 88.26 during the first six months of the year from 86.46 during the corresponding period last year.

Al Ain Club Jujitsu Team is scheduled to travel to USA on Thursday 20th September 2018 to play the second round of Abu Dhabi Grand Slam – Los Angeles which will kick off on Saturday 22nd September.

Being their first away championship, Al Ain fighters are looking forward to clinch titles and add up points to the team’s balance.

Noteworthy, Al Ain Club did not participate in the first round held in Tokyo. In addition to Al Ain team, there are other UAE clubs and international private academies.

The delegation is headed by Sheikha Ahmad Al Essa’i along with the players, namely: Taleb Al Kerbi, Rashed AL Kaabi, Obeid Al Nuaimi, Hamdan Al Bloushi, Mahra Al Hanai, Bashayer Al Matroushi, Dima Al Yafei, Hessa Al Shamesi, Khawla Al Haj and Maha Al Hana’i.

(WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has affirmed that the 4th edition of the National Housing Exhibition, NHE, which was launched yesterday, is in-line with the Abu Dhabi development plans.

Sheikh Hazza emphasised that housing is one of the main pillars of social and economic policies, and its the main impetus for stability that preserve and advance the march of development.

The three-day housing event is being organised by the First Abu Dhabi Bank at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

Nearly 120 exhibitors, including government entities, consultants, contractors and suppliers, are participating in the 11,000 square metre exhibition, which also features a series of activities and seminars.

(WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has affirmed the importance of the second edition of FinTech Abu Dhabi 2018 Summit, which kicks off tomorrow in Abu Dhabi.

Sheikh Hazza said, “FinTech Abu Dhabi 2018 is looking at innovation in financial services to enhance Abu Dhabi’s role as a global platform for converging experiences and devising solutions to challenges facing this vital sector which interests a large segment of the world.”

Over 300 university students, banking institutions, global accelerators, investors and potential customers will come together to network and absorb a variety of strategic topics relevant to their growth journey.

Abdullah Zawayyed Al Nuaimi, Manager of Al Ain First Volleyball Team, hailed the performance of the team during the friendly match against Oman National Volleyball Team held last Thursday. “We Won the match by 3-1 in our first friendly match this season in preparation to defend our Vice-President’s Cup title,” he said.

Al Nuaimi pointed out that the team kicked off the preseason training camp early August. The camp was attended by all players except the international players who joined the training camp of the UAE International Volleyball Team. He also stated that the team was able to achieve all the preset goals of the preseason camp under the command of the new Brazilian coach, Sidney, with the participation of the Brazilian player, Costa, who performed well during the friendly match against the Omani team.

Noteworthy, Al Ain Volleyball Team has resumed their daily training sessions at the indoor court of Khalifa Stadium in preparation for the match against Shabab Al Ahli Dubai on Friday 21st September as part of the Vice-President’s Cup scheduled to be held at Al Jazira Club in Abu Dhabi.

In a special ceremony held to honor the champs of Al Ain and National Jujitsu Team, H.E. Khamis Obaid Al Ka’abi, Chairman of the Board of Al Ain Sports Games Company, expressed his deepest pleasure with their unprecedent achievement in the Asian Games held in Indonesia/ Jakarta winning the silver medals. “You honored your homeland and your club and deserved to be honored by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces in a special reception held for this occasion. Indeed, it is the dream of each athlete!” he stressed.

Al Ka’abi added: “This achievement is realized through hard work and sincere efforts exerted by the players in preparation for this significant championship. I have no doubt you will clinch the golden medals in Asian Games Tokyo 2020.”

Mr. Chairman stated that the UAE wise leadership shows a great interest in this game at all levels through holding numerous local competitions and participation in international championships. He stressed that such events will greatly contribute in embracing the glory in the very near future.

On issues related to the plans developed in this regard, he commented: “We have an annual plan setup per season to develop this game and definitely we are attracting new names. Khaled Iskandar, player of Al Ain and National Jujitsu Team, expressed his pleasure to win the silver medal in the Asian Games held in Jakarta last month.

Khaled underlined that the international championship was tough and competitive. “I am satisfied with the medal I won in 56kg category. I did benefit a lot from this unique participation where Jujitsu is included in the ASIAD competitions for the first time.”
